What kind of R&D plastic pilot compounding plant does Birch offer?
Our version of a plastic pilot compounding plant starts with a small twin screw or single screw extruder. We offer the use of our equipment by the day or week to run your trials. For a flat rate, you may be present onsite while we run your product or send us the components and our staff will run it for you.
After the pellets are made on one of the extruders, we can convert them into injection molded parts or extruded tape for testing.
Birch also has a full plastics testing laboratory available for you to check the physical properties of your project.
How do I get started?
The process starts by scheduling a meeting with our production team. If need be an NDA will be signed and we’ll discuss exactly what the goals are and how you would like us to handle your project.
