Toll Pelletizing & Closed-Loop Plastic Recycling Services
Birch Plastics: Your Partner in Sustainable Resource Management
At Birch Plastics, we understand the critical importance of keeping valuable plastic resources in circulation. Our Toll Pelletizing Services are a key component of our comprehensive Closed-Loop Plastic Recycling program, designed to help companies like yours maximize sustainability, reduce waste, and reclaim value from their plastic scrap.
How Our Closed-Loop System Works for You:
Birch Plastics proudly partners with companies that send us their scrap plastic cut-offs, off-spec parts, trimmed scrap, and other non-usable/sellable plastic waste for recycling. Instead of sending these valuable materials to landfills, we provide a robust solution for their reintroduction into your production stream.
Our Process to Reclaim Your Plastic Investment:
- Material Receipt & Preparation: We receive your plastic waste materials at our Houston, Texas facility.
- Size Reduction (Grinding & Shredding): As part of our closed-loop plastic recycling services, Birch Plastics will shred and grind your material through a precise size reduction process. This converts your scrap into regrind, making it ready for immediate reuse in certain applications.
- Advanced Pelletizing (Optional): For even greater versatility and performance, we can take your material a step further. We melt down the regrind in our advanced pelletizing process, converting it into uniform pellet form. This highly consistent format offers superior handling, processing efficiency, and quality for your manufacturing needs.
- Return to You: The resulting regrind or pellets are returned directly to your operations, ready to be incorporated back into your production processes.
The Benefits of Closed-Loop Recycling with Birch Plastics:
- Reclaim Initial Investment: By reusing your own plastic waste, you effectively reclaim some of your initial material investment, leading to significant cost savings.
- Environmental Stewardship: Most importantly, our closed-loop system directly helps keep plastic out of landfills, significantly reducing your environmental footprint and contributing to a more sustainable planet.
- Enhanced Material Consistency: Our expert size reduction and pelletizing processes ensure your recycled material meets consistent quality standards for reliable performance.
- Supply Chain Resilience: Rely on a trusted partner to manage your internal waste streams, fostering a more resilient and sustainable supply chain.
- Meet Sustainability Goals: Demonstrate a clear commitment to circular economic principles, aligning with consumer demand, corporate objectives, and regulatory mandates.
How Can We Help with Your Custom Plastic Compounding Needs?

- Tailored Solutions & Collaborative Development
- Custom Compounding Expertise: We specialize in developing resins with customized properties that are application specific. Whether you need enhanced strength, rigidity, impact resistance, heat deflection, specific flow characteristics, or unique colors and additives, our team works diligently to formulate materials that perfectly align with your product's performance requirements.
- Collaborate on Ideas: We thrive on partnership. Bring us your challenges, your innovative concepts, or your material pain points. Our experienced engineers and material scientists will collaborate with you to brainstorm, test, and refine ideas, helping to "dial in" a product that not only meets but exceeds your requirements. This often leads to improved product performance, optimized processing, and significant cost-effectiveness.
- Flexible Production & Private Labeling
- Making Plastic Pellets is Our Core: With multiple plastic compounding line options, various blenders, and a well-equipped plastic testing laboratory, we ensure consistent, high-quality output. We have the flexibility to handle diverse production volumes and complex formulations.
- Private Labeling Options: Looking to streamline your supply chain or launch proprietary material under your own brand? We offer private labeling options, allowing you to receive custom-compounded resins packaged and branded according to your specifications.
- Driving Your Sustainable Goals Forward
- Leading the Way in Sustainable Plastics: At Birch Plastics, we are committed to helping brand owners meet their ambitious sustainability goals. We offer innovative sustainable options designed to reduce your environmental footprint without sacrificing performance.
- FDA All-Food Contact Natural Recycled Polypropylene: A highlight of our sustainable offerings is our specialized FDA all-food contact natural recycled polypropylene. This advanced material allows you to replace some, or all of the virgin resin used to make your product, significantly contributing to a circular economy and diverting plastic waste from landfills.
- Sustainable Fillers for Enhanced Properties: We can further enhance these sustainable resins with fillers like talc or calcium. These not only improve properties such as stiffness, dimensional stability, and heat resistance but can also contribute to cost optimization and a reduced carbon footprint.

Pelletizing and Compounding Service and Capabilities
What is Custom Plastic Compounding?
Custom plastic compounding services involve the process of using extruders to melt, blend, and modify various plastic resins, additives, and other components to create a specific and tailored plastic material that meets the unique requirements of a customer's application.
This process enables companies to create materials that align closely with their product requirements, providing a competitive advantage in terms of performance characteristics, functionality, cost, and regulatory compliance.
