Polypropylene is an economical material that offers a combination of outstanding thermal, mechanical, physical, and electrical properties not found in any other thermoplastic. Polypropylene is known for its exceptional chemical resistance in corrosive environments and provides excellent resistance to organic solvents, degreasing agents, and electrolytic attacks. It is lightweight, resistant to staining, and has a low moisture absorption rate.
Polypropylene copolymer (PPCO) is a bit softer than homopolymer and has better impact strength and it is more robust and durable than homopolymer polypropylene. Copolymer polypropylene tends to have better stress crack resistance and low-temperature toughness than homopolymer with only a small reduction in other properties.
